‘Do you remember who you were before the blood?’ - Otober 2025 Exhibition

‘ Do you remember who you were before the blood’  was my instillation piece for the exhibition
time and place’ held on the 28th October 2025.

The exhibition was styalised as a look into dealing with the physical changes of female adolesence, looking like the wall of a adolescent girl. The instillation intentionally doesnt reach the ceiling to infer the person this wall belongs to is quite short and still a child, evidenced by the height chart at the very bottom.

In preperation for this instillation, i free bled onto a pair of pyjama shorts during the heaviest day of my period to confront my own discomfort with handling blood, even if its my own.

My intention with including these was to push the viewers to a pointof discomfort by displaying something that society refuses to talk about despite every woman experiencing a period.

it also brings back ‘ daisy’  who was the rabbit plush used in my instillation  ‘ spill your guts’ from my second year. the visual motif of rabbits  is one of the threads that connets all my pieces together. I decided to reuse this prop as it represents childlike innocence being distorted and brutalised which thematically fit with the piece.
