‘Do you remember your 9th birthday?’ - Photography series, September 2025
‘Do you remember your 9th birthday’ is a short film depicting a series of photographs while a poem ‘ playing God’ written by me is being read aloud by the text - to- speach generator ‘ SAM’, that I was inspired by its use in the video game ‘ Faith: the Unholy trilogy’ and the uncannily inhuman speech it produced.
The poem is structured around the biblical passage Luke 22:19 and explores themes of the loss childhood innocence and the corruption of purity.

I am a glass pulpit
Cracks contained by chains of fleeting control
Preaching to an audience of flies
Commanding which feces to feast upon
Demanding which rotted rib to tear out and impregnate
I lay upon the altar as they strip me of my robes
Apple in my mouth, Honey glazed thighs
Communion blood staining my wine-dark hair
To my congregation of gluttony:
“This is my body, which is given to you”
When my breasts have been pecked clean by doves
When the pearlescent gates to my womb have been soiled
Will you still find me worthy of deliverance?
Will You fuck what is left of my bones and call it reverence?
“This is my blood, which is given to you”
“Do this in remembrance of me.”
