‘ the King in Yellow’

Inspired by R.W Chambers’ series of short stories titled ‘The King In Yellow’, this painting was made initially for fun but sparked an interest in painting Eldritch Horror Which inspired the direction my Art took this term.
I felt like I had hit a natural pause in my video and photography work and was feeling uninspired, making the shift to traditional art after so many years was the spark I felt my art was lacking.
This painting also made a large impact on my artistic process as previously I had limited my colour palette to exclusively Red and Pink, but this painting introduced Yellow as a strong accent colour to my works wider colour palette.
