‘pink addictions’ - December 2025
a Series of photographs looking into the romanticisation of substances and addiction.
The title comes from a poem ‘ my pink addictions’ written by me.
The series features a collection of arranged substances like empty energy drinks stained with lipstick, bottles of alcohol, vapes, sweets and warning labels from nicotine packets.
The pictures are 2400x1600 taken on a Canon EOS R50.
My collection of Pink Addictions - 20/11/25
My Little pink addiction sits nestled in my palm
Bless me with a kiss to rosy lips
Ah, Just like I remembered.
It’s kiss tastes like shit,
My lungs are burning
Throat coated with sugar
Horny from the high
And withdrawals harsh like a butcher.
My little pink addiction is always there for me
her temptation found in every store
Cold and sleek, sexy lady of caffeine
£1.75, and that buzz could be yours,
My mind is racing in the dark of the night
Restless paranoia fucks me sore
And I’ll do it all again tomorrow
A little pink addiction whore.
My little pink addiction sits loyally by my bed
Patiently waiting for my mental defeat
Paired so temptingly with the lady from before
The taste so sharp and yet so sweet
The consequences are numbing, and quietens my mind
Or at least it was supposed to
Yet tears keep spilling over little pink cheeks
As my mind gives in to the addiction’s coup.
My little pink addiction has eyes that hold the sea
A memory I can’t seem to drink away
My addict heart misses the way you kissed
Even though you kissed like shit
When the sun shines, soberness comes easy
But the winter has left me to choke.
My ocean-eyed obsession isn’t there to soothe me
So my little pink addictions will have to do.
